Shadows 2008
< Back

Can you believe its already my 4th year for doing this?!?  Time sure flies when you're having fun!  What started as a way to get a smile is now something fun for us to do when we're out and about -- well, when we're outside in weather that allows for shadows... sometimes a bit more scarce than you'd think here in the North West.

Hopefully, we'll have more than last year... but considering the first one is in April... Maybe not!  :-)

April  - Shadows on the Trail
The First Shadow Picture in a LONG time!

While out on a hike that got cancelled half way through because the stroller didn't have 4 wheel drive and chains, we stopped for a bit right at the beginning for a quick picture... the funny thing is that we're both smiling.

June  - Shadows near Brewster Lake
Sunny days have been SCARCE this year!

After a long stretch of rainy, drizzly days, we went for a walk around the lake in our neighborhood park, and managed to catch a shadow while walking out to the park from our house.

It was a fun walk - the little guy likes to watch the ducks, and we enjoy getting outside, which our work schedules don't seem to allow us to do half as much as we'd like.

July  - Shadows on the wall
   VERY Funny!  =]

We were visiting a friend of ours, and while his kids were setting up to play on a pad he has in his back yard, we noticed our shadows on the retaining wall on the edge of the pad... we posed for the picture, which the Shadow Lady took with her camera, and the little guy thought we were showing him the phone so he could play with it!  =]

Beware the Hand!

August - Shadows on the train
   Up in the Parlor Car

Heading back from a cousin's wedding down in LA, we noticed our shadows on the wall of the Parlor Car.  It was a fun trip, and the weather was quite nice for it as well!

August - Shadows at the beach
Out at Kalaloch this year, it was Wall to wall SUN

Not a cloud in the sky... and lots of shadows.  We were walking across the logs to get to the sandy part of the beach, and we noticed our shadows.

While taking the picture, the little guy reached for the camera... its becoming his trademark!  =]

September - Shadows At the Game
Heading into the stadium, we noticed our shadows in the parking garage

The Yankees were in town, and we went to the game.  We noticed that the way we were walking made for a cool picture, so we stopped, and took a picture of our shadows on the wall, all lined up like we planned it that way.

November - Shadows At Grandma's
On a rare nice late fall day...

We were heading to Grandmas to spend a Saturday with them, and noticed our shadows walking with us in the parking lot
