A page of links grows into a section on my website

Welcome to a new idea... putting videos on the website.  This started out as a temporary page on my site to push videos to my family - which were often too large to email ... the page got larger and larger, and then I decided to just make a Section out of it.

Most of these aren't real noteworthy... just a short clip to show something I've been up to...

Right-click, and pick "Save As", then save it to a location on your local computer.
Once saved locally, you can watch the file from there...
You CAN just run it directly, but it'll work better if you save it locally first.

I'll add more as I find them... some of my files are somewhat more disorganized than others.

January 2001

Sea Lions at Fisherman's Warf (mpg, ~1.7mb)
During a trip to San Francisco for a Developer's Conference, I stopped by the Fisherman's Warf, and took these clips of the sea lions there with my camera

Trolley getting turned around (wmv, ~1 mb)
Still at San Francisco, I watched a trolley get turned around and put back on the tracks heading uphill.

A few scenes from the conference (wmv, ~1 mb)
Here's a couple of scenes from the conference... The guy with the grey hair is the person who's credited with REALLY inventing the Internet.  The guy talking is talking about an apparent bug in .Net, where Microsoft has changed the functionality of the INT function.

Golden Gate Bridge (wmv, ~1 mb)
Here's a couple of picture and a clip of the Golden Gate Bridge, as seen from the Presidio.

March 2001

Along WA-7 (wmv, ~1 mb)
Driving down to Oregon along WA-7, a State route that's NOT the Interstate, I noticed some trees with mist rising out of them, and stopped to take a gander at them.

April 2001

Opening Day (wmv, ~5 mb)
Opening day is just special... especially when it kicks off a season that had 116 wins!

A-Rod returns (wmv, ~1.5 mb)
Alex Rodriquez left he Mariners.  Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but he was offered 145 million to stay with the Mariners, and he turned it town, saying "its not about the money"... only he took a 200+ million deal from Texas.  When they came to town, he got SOUNDLY boo'd.  People even threw Monopoly money... it was pretty cool.

Kaz!!! (wmv, ~5 mb)
The Mariners closer sure made a name for himself... 45 saves by the time the season was done!

Closing the roof (mpg, ~5 mb)
Not the most exciting video, but here's a shot of the final moments of the roof closing at Safeco Field.

Falls along the highway  (mpg, ~5 mb)
During a drive along US2, I stopped and got some pictures and a bit of video of a waterfall alongside the scenic byway... they're more rapids than falls, but they still look nice, I think anyway.

US2 Fish Hatchery (mpg, ~5 mb)
I like to stop and check things out that most folks would just drive by without noticing... the fish hatchery along US2 is one of them... during one stop, a worker there was feeding the fish.  Interesting stuff!

May 2001

North Cascades National Park (wmv, ~1.5 mb)
Here's a clip of a waterfall on the side of the road at North Cascades National Park.. pretty impressive!

June 2001

Mt St Helens (wmv, ~1 mb)
A friend of mine had never been to Mt St Helens -- and he's from Washington!  So, we took a drive one Saturday, and made a day of it.

September 2001

Goodbye, Cal! (wmv, ~1 mb)
Cal Ripken, Baseball's Iron Man, retired, and this was his last game at Safeco Field.

February 2002

Rainier, Adams, St Helens, Hood, Shasta (wmv)
While on a flight heading down to California, I managed to see a  the "big" mountains in the area.

Alcatraz (wmv)
During a trip to San Francisco for my second Developer's Conference, I stayed an extra day, and went to Alcatraz.

Bale Grist Mill (wmv)
I can pretty much be assured that this is a part of Napa Valley that you haven't heard about much... a Bale Grist Mill.  During its heyday, it provided flour to the region.  Today, it's being preserved, and is still used to make flour, but only for specialty/tourist purposes.  It was a pretty interesting tour, though.

March 2002

Snow in the lowlands (wmv)
It doesn't snow much here down near sea level, so on the way home from a movie, my friend Rob broke out the camera for pictures, only he took some video instead...

April 2002

Curling (wmv)
As part of a team building project, we went curling... its even funner than it looks!

August 2002

Space Needle (wmv)
I went to the Space Needle for some pictures of the Tall Ship parade on Lake Union, and only filmed clips going up and coming down... so I did a slide show of sorts, and put it to some "American" music.  =]

October 2003

End of the Salmon Run (wmv, ~6mb)
Les, a friend of mine, and I went for a ride up to Rainy Pass to settle a bet on whether it was snowing (I lost, but that's ok)... Along the way, we stopped to see the tail end of the salmon run, hoping to catch some salmon making their way up the river.  The run was a bit lame, but it was a nice drive, anyway -- and we saw a few salmon swimming... so it wasn't a total loss

For some reason, I don't have any for quite a stretch of time... maybe they got deleted, or they're just 'hiding' on my computer some place.

July 2005

Some Fenway Memories (wmv, ~10mb)
On a trip to introduce The Shadow Lady to my family, we stopped by Fenway Park... what an AMAZING place!

October 2005

Promise Keepers (wmv, ~1mb)
I went to promise keepers, and I took a few pictures, and a short clip.

Check back from time to time... I'm finding more videos all the time.
