Pictures, tidbits, and stuff related to the Tadpole...

The impossible has happened.  The Shadow Lady and I were blessed with a wonderful baby boy!  I was told more than 20 years ago that I would never be able to father a child... but here he is!

He's strong, healthy, and everything seems to work as it was designed to... its truly an incredible event in our lives!

Posts are in "reverse order"... newest ones are at the top!

The Tadpole posts of 2007

Numbers are FUN!
The little guy was smiling and laughing while we were reading a book about numbers... or was it the toys?

Getting excited by the swinging toy
It took him a bit to notice em, but now they're old friends...

Sitting with Grandpa
Kicking back with Grandpa... its hard to know who enjoys it more!

Heading to a Christmas Party
While we were getting ready for a Christmas Party, we took some pictures

Settling down for a trip
After we got him ready for the trip to church, he sat in his chair and settled in for what he apparently knew was going to be a bit of a ride...

Baby Dedication
We dedicated our son to God today.

Playing with a Rattle
We had the little guy on the floor, so he could "practice" rolling and what not.  I handed him a rattle, and he took it.  :-)

Snug as a bug
I don't know about anybody else, but I think that when he props his head up on his arms, it REALLY sends the "Cute meter" way up...

The Hungry Face
While at the Family Pancake House, he made a face that we've probably seen more than any other: The "I'm Hungry" face.

Watching the Mobile
We've noticed that he's looking at things farther and farther away... he's also taken to watching the mobile turn...

Great Grammy
During a family Christmas Party, the Tadpole got to meet his Great Grandmother...

Meeting More of the Family
The little guy was the star of another gathering recently... the Shadow Lady's Dad's side of the family threw the two of them a shower... he was the star of party of course!

Who's THAT???
While waiting in the doctor's office, he got a bit fussy, so I took him out of the car seat/Carrier, and walked around the waiting room for a bit, keeping him distracted... he was sure mesmerized by the mirror!

In Mid Kick
He REALLY doesn't like having a blanket, and he kicks at them until they're off... unless he falls asleep first!

Sleeping with Heartless
He was a bit fussy, so I put the lion "Heartless" with him, and he settled down enough to fall asleep...

If that's not a smile... its CLOSE!
I was snapping pictures of the little guy, when he looked over at mom, and noticed her looking at him...

Who's that?
Since he was awake, I decided to wiggle a few toys in front of him, and let him feel the different textures and the like.  He wasn't really all that interested, until I put down the lion...

Two kids with the same name
The "short versions" of the names of these two guys ends up being the same..

One Month and Counting
When folks see him, they comment, wow, he's changed!  I personally haven't noticed very much change, but when you look at him in these side-to-side pictures... you can see what they're talking about, I think!

What a Yawn!
This picture makes me smile...

Zonked out
He sure is a cutie when he sleeps!

Entertaining Company
A friend from work dropped by for a visit.  She goes "way back" to our days at Safeco, and missed out on the "Meet and Greet" a few weeks ago or so, and wanted to meet the Tadpole in person.

Dad Time!
Here's a few more pictures of the little guy...

Getting to know the other Grandma
My mom is making the best of her visit to see the Tadpole... and I guess us for Thanksgiving!

Another Grandma?
My Mom is out here visiting for Thanksgiving, and got to meet the Tadpole up close and in person...

Who rocked Whom to Sleep?
The Shadow Lady got to wondering why I was rocking the Tadpole for so long... So she went downstairs, and found us both crashed out on the Lazy boy...

Grabbing some Shut-eye
I grabbed the opportunity to get in a bit of sleep... and the Shadow Lady seems to have gotten a hold of the camera again!

Like father, like son?
I transferred pictures off my camera, and it seems that The Shadow Lady has been busy taking some clandestine pictures...

Whispering to Grandpa
We were shopping close to the Tadpole's Grandparent's place, so when we called to see if they'd like us to drop by, the answer was pretty predictable!

Everyone can use a Hug!
The little Tadpole was waiting for Mom a bit longer than he wanted to, so I gave him one of his little krinkly toys to see if that would work.

The Two of us in the Early Morning
Part of my "job" is to keep the little guy occupied so Mom can get enough sleep.

No Covers for Me!
Well, the little guy is 10 days old!  What a thrill the little guy has been!  Mom is doing very well, and we're all getting enough rest -- so far, anyway!

NOT a happy camper!
We took the Tadpole in for his first checkup at the Pediatrician today.  He's gained 6 ounces in the last week or so, so he's doing pretty well as far as eating goes!

Snoozing is fun
this is another cute sleeping picture...  I guess I'm more of a softie than I thought I would be...

My What a big face you have!
The little guy was pretty alert this morning... so I walked him around the house.

Tadpole Sleeps
The Tadpole Sleeps.  This isn't ALL he does - he's awake at times, and of course he cries, eats, and thrashes diapers like he's been doing it for months...

Snoozing Comfortably
Even watching him sleep is a joy.  He's taken to lying his head on his hands and arms...

Reading a magazine
The tadpole and I were sitting on the couch, and I was reading a new magazine I'd gotten in the mail to him... he sort of dozed off... :)

Getting Comfy
Nothing profound in today's update... just a cute picture of him sleeping...

Heading Home
The Tadpole's first few days were spent in Overlake Hospital, while mom recovered.   On Halloween, though, they let us go home!

Welcome to the world!
After a day of "cramps", The Shadow Lady and I FINALLY made the decision to head in to Overlake to see what they could tell us.  We were pretty sure they would just send us home, smiling at the new parents-to-be for being so trigger-happy.... they DID send us home, two days later, with the little guy we've been waiting on!
