ANOTHER new Record!!!
 

This is amazing.  Tropical Storm Zeta formed in the last few days of 2005, and lasted through to 2006, the first storm to "live" in two different years. 

If - IF - another one forms, it'll use the first name of the new season... Alberto

Tropical Storm Zeta formed on Friday and is currently located about 1070 miles southwest of the Azores. Zeta is the 27th named storm and ties Alice (1954) for the latest forming Atlantic Basin tropical storm on record. Zeta is nearly stationary, but should begin moving westward Sunday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph. Most of the convection associated with Zeta is located near and east of the center. The storm is no threat to land and is mainly a marine interest.

Tropical Storm Zeta formed on Friday and is currently located about 1450 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands with top sustained winds of 65 mph. Zeta is the 27th named storm and ties Alice (1954) for the latest forming Atlantic Basin tropical storm on record. Zeta is moving slowly to the west. The storm should weaken slowly over the next day or two. The storm is no threat to land and is mainly a marine interest.
