In June or July, 1855, the first group of tourists visits Snoqualmie Falls, a spectacular waterfall located on the Snoqualmie River in eastern King County.

The group from Olympia traveled by schooner to Snohomish City, located on the Snohomish River 20 miles downstream from Snoqualmie Falls. From there they traveled in "first class canoes," accompanied by 14 Native American guides
