Views of Saco, Montana

I wonder if the names are related?
Along US2 in Montana is a small town named Saco.  It was settled in 1892.  No one knows where the name came from, but they think it was from Sacagawea... Anyway, I thought it was interesting...   Never been there (yet) - I found these pics on the Web...

This is the Saco Methodist Church, which was built in 1903.

Below is downtown Saco, Montana... This is the Saco Garage.  I'm not sure if its open or not.

This is the Big Dome Hotel, one of the first stone or brick buildings in the town.

Saco, MT sports a population of about 220, and the roads are pressed gravel.

Below left, grain elevators stand just outside of town, and apparently can be seen from considerable distance.

In 1988, it was so hot in Saco that it warped the rail lines, derailing this passenger train... 7 cars derailed, with 3 overturning.  I don't know how many were hurt or killed...

In the center of town, this seemingly indistinct service station has an important place in Montana's heritage...
For a brief period, the town of Saco was in the Guiness Book of World Records for cooking the world's largest hamburger. The hamburger weighed 6,000 pounds and took the title away from Seymour, Wisconsin. The next year, Seymour regained the title with an 8,266 pound burger. Seventeen cows went into Saco's burger.

The next day the leftovers were used by townfolks for biscuits and gravy at breakfast and Sloppy Joe's for dinner.
