With the completion of the new Central Station on Washington Street, the Biddeford Fire Department managed to house its assets under one centralized roof, saving time, money, and maintenance efforts.

Coinciding with the new station were two new steam powered, horse-driven engines, purchased from Manchester, NH, for about $8,500, or about a third of the cost of the building.
