Started in Barcelona, Spain, in the 1890's, this church
isn't expected to be done until 2025 or so. It is
being built entirely of private donations, which is probably
part of why its taken so long.
Its HUGE, and
apparently has become a popular tourist destination over the
years, and now garnishes more visitors than any other single
location in Spain.
This is how the main entrance has looked for years.
The alcoves were left with bricks unevenly exposed, waiting
for the artwork to be mortared into place. It ended up
leaving the archways looking like some sort of formation
you'd see in a cave.

In WW2, the church looked bombed-out, but it just wasn't
completed...

Not long ago, a large donation really got things going...

Because the front face was beginning to sag from the weight,
a new front was designed to help hold it up... the alcoves
were also finally finished out and cleaned up.

The alcoves inside are HUGE, and the art work for them are
being installed

It will be interesting to see what its like when its done!
