Not sure if this place is supposed to be pronounced "Tweeds"
or "Tweedees", but regardless, Twede's is one of the places
we like to go back to here in North Bend. Its not the food
is fantastic - its good, and you get decent portions, but
its not what brings us back... we just like it there.
it feels good, and its a fun place.

Twede's history goes back to the 1940's, although its gone
through some name changes over the years. The same
family that opened it still operates it, though... and its
become a part of the town's unique flair. The cafe played
a fairly major part of the TV Series Twin Peaks,
which was filmed in North Bend, and its Cherry Pie is really
as good as the show made it out to be.

Its not fancy at all, and there's no attempt to "dress up"
the place or the food... it is what it is, and they don't
try to be anything more than what they are... I think that's
part of why I like it so much. They have a decent menu
selection, which sports a listing of over 50 hamburgers, all
based pretty much on a "1/3 lb beef patty"... AND which
includes the Peanut Butter and Jelly Burger!

Also, nailed or stapled to the walls is an assortment of
Tweety Birds, and a few of Sylvester, too... no idea why....
I guess the owner likes 'em. :-)
The PBJ burger is actually quite GOOD. I've gotten
it a couple of times after being surprised the first time...
makes sense... I like hamburger, peanut butter, and jelly...
I also liked the jelly on the fries... interesting combo!

There's joke books to read, which can be fun...There's
also ample room to sit and visit with friends and family...
its got it all! :-)
