Snoqualmie Falls is quite an impressive place... not the
highest, but certainly one of the more picturesque places to
visit. Its very accessible, and is one of Washington's
Most visited places... 1.5 million people a year take a look
a the falls. That number might be tainted a bit, because
I'm sure I'm counted more than once in that number, and so
are other people! :-)

A short path takes you to the viewing platform
The view is pretty incredible!

The river calmly reaches the top, then cascades over the
top...
... and thunders into the waiting pool below!
The viewing stand is perched atop a knoll across from the
falls... its a WAYS down, that's for sure!
Built in 1898, there's a power station just upstream from
the falls. They dug a tunnel, and some of the water from
the river is diverted through it, and into the generators at
the bottom of the drop.
From the top of the falls, you can see the exhaust from the
tunnel cut for power generation.
The flow varies quite a bit from mid Winter, when runoff
from rain is typically fairly high...
To late summer, when the rains haven't visited in a while...
The 268-foot drop takes on a whole new aspect when viewed at
night...
