We got to see the Langjokull glacier, although it was from a
distance. Its the second largest glacier, covering 950 square
Kilometers (the largest covers more than 8000 square KM).
It was pretty spectacular from the view we had... a large cap of ice,
surrounded by a ridge on all sides... sort of a ready made bowl.
Its hard to imagine just how much water is bound up in that ice...
We wished we had the opportunity to have gotten closer...
