We flew there on Northwest to Minneapolis, then on Iceland Air the rest
of the way. It was only 6 hours out of MSP, so the flight wasn't
bad at all. We watched "How to lose a guy in 10 days" on the
inflight movie... it was a nice flight.
Once in Reykjavik, we explored the city,
and visited an Incredible Church that
dominated the skyline, tried out the local food
- even sheep's head (the Shadow Lady
wisely stuck to pizza) - took a few tours to
waterfalls, the south coast, several
geysers, a glacier,
the mid-Atlantic Ridge... we had a GREAT time,
and saw some unique and interesting
scenery!
The last night, we watched a Volcano Show,
then the next morning we went back to The Blue
Lagoon, then flew home. Unfortunately, the British had foiled
a terrorist plot a few days before we flew home, and security measures
prevented me from bringing my camera... it ended up working out, though,
because we were so relaxed, we pretty much slept the whole way, anyway.
We had a GREAT time, and we're planning on returning sometime fairly
soon, maybe for an anniversary trip, to try and take in more of the
island we found to interesting.
