0430 - Got up and made coffee.

While it was preparing, I packed my bags and made ready to go.  Folks started milling about around 0530 or so... it was good to have a bit of quiet to start the day.

0600 - Loaded trucks

0625 - Headed out for Nabaj

Nabaj is a town near Cotzal, and its slightly larger.  There was a restaurant there that Jack remembered from his last trip that he wanted to do break fast at.

0705 - Stopped in Nebaj for breakfast

It was a nice place, catering to the international crowd... "Think Globally, eat Locally" was their motto.  The food was good, though.

0830 - Departed Nebaj

0935 - Construction stoppage

They were working on the road, widening it. An excavator worked on the hill at an incredible slope, knocking rocks to the roadway below.

While stopped, I checked out the scenery, and the stuff that was passing...

Most of the work was done by hand...

1015 - Headed out again.

Along the way, there was quite a bit of construction in the hills.

1050 - Pit stop at the Military Bridge

As we got to the bridge, a cow was causing a problem for folks... it'd gotten away from its handler, and was in a foul mood.  it didn't do anything to the trucks, though.

1100 - Continued on towards Antiqua

The chicken busses were out in force... the drivers of those things are fearless!

1415 - Lunch stop at a Swiss steakhouse, which seemed out of place, but it had GREAT food!

I got a local dish... some sort of cheese-covered burrito with steak in it... it was very good.  It came with Fried bananas, and veggies... good stuff.  The sauce was hot, but very tasty!

The bathrooms were outside, and oddly designed... but they worked and they were clean!  :-)

We encountered more chicken buses on the way back than on the way out... the difference between a weekend day, and a week day, I'm sure.
1640 - Arrive in Antiqua and stay at Casa Florencia Hotel.

The hotel was VERY nice - a far cry from where we'd been staying for the last week... we almost felt guilty!

We all took really long, hot showers, which felt GREAT!

I managed to take in the Sunset... very nice.

Then, we headed out to the restaurant, to meet up with the Agros in-country folks.

1900 - Ate at Posada de Don Rodrigo

We met the Agros in country leadership team, and had a good time reviewing our thoughts of the trip.

We slept very well that night.
