We ended our tour to change, and then head to Fenway Park. To beat the traffic, we took the subway, which lets out very close to the Ultimate Sanctuary of Baseball. |

It was awesome!
We walked over a bridge that gave us an excellent view of the back side of the Green Monster, and the Highway that Jim Rice put the baseball on... |

Entering Fenway, I was smiling as big as when I was a kid going there for
the first time... It was awesome! We were VERY hungry, so we got
couple of Fenway Franks and a Coke, and watched the drizzle hit the
tarp... This IS baseball! Walking the causeways around the park, you really got a sense of how small and how quaint the park is... it was also surprising at how UNCROWDED it was... the game was completely sold out, of course, but it wasn't difficult getting around at all... a far cry from Safeco Field, which RARELY sells out. |

It was awesome.
We walked around, checking out views from different locations. The new seats on top of the green monster, the remodeled Press box, and the seating area there. I touched the Green Monster. I saw the dents in the metal wall -- some of them made by Ted Williams, some by the Babe himself. |

Before too long, they pulled up the tarp, and the game got underway...
Our seat, true to Fenway Park, had a support pole in front of it... it added to the ambience of the game... |

We were in Fenway Park. We were sitting in a seat that
countless other fans have sat in, watching the very same game played there
for nearly 100 years.
Manny put one over the wall, and over the seats above it, where the nets used to be. We got to watch the 'scoreboard guy' update the scoreboard between innings. |

We went to the Tampa Bay game because Lou was going to be there. We also got to see John Olerud, who now plays for Boston. The Red Sox won the game, 5-1, but it didn't really matter... it was Fenway. It was an awesome end to an awesome Trip!!! |
