I guess it goes without saying that I also like to have a good time... and
the opportunity to "go someplace" is always a great way to
help guarantee an enjoyable experience! :-)I especially like to drive... A friend of mine once said that I was born 50 years
too early - the glory days of road tripping with the family was in the 50's and
60's, before the airlines became commonplace, and before the Interstates... back
when the Federal Highway System was the rule of the land, and the roadside
diners were fresh and new...
I don't get to go as often as I'd like, but every so often, I manage to head
out and put some more miles on my truck...
I haven't been very good about keeping this up to date...
There's LOTS of
items I should have added... I'll try and catch up, though, I promise!

Kalaloch 2008 |
This
year for Memorial Day, like the others before it, we went
down to Kalaloch... its a GREAT place to go, and one of
those traditions you just don't want to mess with!

Florida 2008 |
I went down to Florida to visit with my cousins. It
was more of a Family Meeting type of trip than a "lets have
fun", but we managed to have some fun, anyway.

Alaska 2007 |
For our first anniversary, I decided to go all out, because
this would be the ONLY anniversary that we'd have with just
us... with the little guy on the way, it might be a while
before we could go on a big trip, so I decided to make up
for it in advance! We had a GREAT time, and we really
gained some great memories to share together for years to
come

Kalaloch 2007 |
We went to Kalaloch again this year for Labor Day... the
family tradition that ends the summer. This is my
third one, and I really was looking forward to it during the
weeks before it happened... Its an awesome send-off for the
end of Summer! It rained during the weekend, but we
had a great time, and it was really good to get to see
everyone again!

Leavenworth 2006 |
The Shadow Lady and I decided to head up to the mountains, both for the
scenery - the leaves are changing color - and for the break the drive
would give to us. We ended up having a better time than we'd
hoped, and yeah... the scenery was awesome!!!

Kalaloch 2006 |
The Shadow Lady and I went back out to Kalaloch for Labor Day
weekend, which is a family tradition. Its a great place for
camping, and an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy the last
"official" weekend of Summer.

Iceland 2006 |
We went to Iceland for our honeymoon. We went because of your reaction
to that... "ICELAND???" Its different. Neither one of us had
been there. Its got everything we like... and its not hot.
We had a fantastic time, and in the end, we left thinking it was a
great choice!

Peoria 2006 |
We took a trip down to Peoria for a wedding of the Shadow Lady's
cousin... and we used that opportunity to take in a couple of Spring
Training games... It was too great an opportunity to pass up!

Guatemala Mission Trip 2006 |
We joined a mission trip to the village of La Esperanza in
Guatemala as part of a "Journey with a Village" project
through Agros International, a "Non-Governmental Agency" set
up by a member of our church. It was a great
experience for the both of us, and we got as much - or more
- out of the trip as we gave.

Kalaloch 2005 |
We went to Kalaloch to spend The Labor Day Holiday with the Shadow Lady's family
camping on the beach...
We had a blast, and I got to meet some additional relatives, and get to know
the others a bit more... it was a great weekend!

Maine 2005 |
As close to my Mom's birthday as our schedules would allow, we went to Maine so
The Shadow Lady could get to meet my family, and introduce them to the woman of
my dreams. A Family BBQ, Lighthouses, Boston and Fenway Park... it was an
awesome trip!Trip to

San Diego 2005 |
The other half of the "Shadow Pictures" was down in a conference in San Diego.
Since the conference ended on Thursday, I went down to see her, and we spent a
couple of days checking out the sites... and ended up having a BLAST!

Ocean Shores 2004 |
Basically on a Whim, I went to the little beach resort town of Ocean Shores for
a quiet winter weekend on the Pacific Coast.
The weather was pretty typical for the Pacific Northwest -- Overcast,
drizzly, and a bit breezy at times, but that's OK... I had a good time, anyway!

JThe 4th at Long Beach 2004 |
I had heard from friends that Long Beach was THE place to be for the Fourth of
July... So I went and checked it out... and found it to be more incredible than
folks let on!The 4th at

Westport 2004 |
The first day of Spring brought out the Sun, so I went back to the Pacific
Coast, this time to the Washington Coast, to a small fishing village
that's rebuilding its image.

Seaside 2004 |
I took advantage of a three day weekend to head out on a little road trip.
I 'camped' for the night at a Shilo Inn, went to Cannon Beach the next day,
then returned to 'home base'... it was a good time!

From Redmond up US 2 to Stevens Pass 2003 |
On a drizzly Saturday, with nothing better to do, me and Les, a friend of mine
from work, went on a drive up into the Cascades to see the Salmon, and to see if
it was snowing up in the pass.
