Russell Bridge, Albany, New Hampshire

Back to Bridges

This is another old bridge spanning the Saco River... this bridge was built by Amzi and Thomas Russell, brothers who farmed in the area.

It was built to be "A hay load high by a hay load wide".

The first bridge on the site, also built by the Russell brothers, was washed out a year after it was completed.  This bridge, finished in 1890, has stood the test of time.
