< Back
I guess everyone knows by now that I take a LOT of pictures! I've put hundreds
on this website... the better ones I manage to take end up here on these "Pic
of the Month" pages...
Its fun just going through them and picking the one out that I'll put up...

Visible Contrasts |
I was heading East back towards Redmond from Seattle, and a Sunbreak treated me
to this great view of Lake Washington. I'm about to cross the largest floating concrete
structure in the world - a floating bridge that takes the highway across one of
the largest natural lakes in Washington. Its bottom is so deep and so muddy, that
rather than build supports, it was decided to just build a bridge that floats instead.
On windy days, the bridge breaks the flow of air on the surface of the lake, making
for two distinct surfaces at times. Its a quite interesting view!

The Space Needle |
On a night with a full moon, I manged to catch this view after a Thunderbirds game...
I take a lot of pictures of the Space Needle, I know...
But that's mostly because it poses so well!

Mt St Helens |
I head up to Mt St Helens fairly regualarly... but usually in the morning. On this
occasion, I decided to stay for the sunset, and was not disappointed by this view!

North Head at Night |
On a clear evening, right at twilight, I set up my tripod, and got this picture
of North Head, just as the flash was passing my way.

The Old Man |
Pride of New Hampshire, the Old Man of the Mountains was discoverd more than 200
years AFTER white folks settled the region. Long hidden from the intruders by the
locals, the face was considered an image of the first chief of thier nation, who was still watching over them from the mountains.

The Power of Steam |
This is an old steam powered tractor, and is a great example of how far the technology
went before the invention of the internal combustion engine obsoleted it. Its a
huge machine, that's for sure!

The other Mountain at Night |
On a drive one night to look at stars, I managed to see a glimpse of Mt Rainier
over a lake near Elbe Washington.
It was a VERY full moon, on a clar night, and with my trusty tripod, I managed to
catch a Mountain scene, using only the light from the Moon.

Can't Afford Eagles! |
I suppose if I were a professional photographer, I'd have paid to have a bald eagle
in the picture... but since I'm just me, a seagull will have to do! This Seagull
sits in a heavily windblown tree that frames Point Wilson Lighthouse quite nicely.

Curling |
As part of a 'team building' excercise at work, we went to the local curling club,
and took up the sport for an afternoon. It was difficult, but it was also a lot
of fun!

A Hint of Rainier |
Mt Rainier is barely visible in the haze above Seattle in this picture I took from
the Ferry. Les and his family invited me on a trip to Port Townsend, and I was more
than happy to visit with them. We had a fantastic time.

Alcatraz Island |
I went down to SF for a Visual Studio Live Conference, and in between the last meeting
and my flight, I took a tour of Alcatraz Island. On the boat out into the bay to
the Island, I snapped this picture...

Sunrise at Rob's |
My best friend Rob and I went for a drive down to his parent's place, and had a
great time... I'm an early riser, and managed to catch the sun coming up, and took
this striking picture...
