Out on the Trails
An old hobby revived

We've finally decided to do what we'd been talking about for a few months, and started hiking again.

The plan is to head out on a hike at least once a week, after work.  Our schedules are pretty tight, though, so executing the plan has been difficult... we'll get better at it, though, and the pace will pick up, so to speak.

I know this section is a bit "light" right now... but I usually bring my camera, so hopefully before too long, it'll be respectable.

Wilderness Signs... as I see more of them, this collection will grow!  I hope, anyway!  :-)

Washington
Snoqualmie Pass/I-90 Corridor

Bat Cave (Talus Rocks Loop) - 2005.08.27 - A fun, fairly short walk up to the home of an active bat colony.

Talapus Lake - 2005.06.20 - A wet hike up to the lake for a bite to eat.

Tradition Lake  - 2005.05.26 - A short walk around Tradition Lake.

Twin Falls - 2006.07.01 - A walk through an old growth grove.

Twin Falls (from Olalie State Park) - 2008.04.19 - It sure felt like more than a 400 feet gain up from the falls... but it was fun!

Mt St Helens

Hummocks to Johnston's Ridge - 2005.06.25 - A hike from the Toutle River Valley Floor to the Observation Center on a ridge named for David Johnston, the USGS geologist who's turn it was to watch the mountain on the day it blew.

Mt Rainier National Park and Area

Kautz Creek - 2005.04.08 - Short 'opportunity walk' through a creek bed in Mt Rainier.

Naches Peak Loop Trail - 2006.07.15 - An early-season hike around the popular loop.
