We did this hike after work on a Friday.  What a nice way to kick off a weekend!  We had set this up quite a while in advance, and were really looking forward to it... it'd been a tough week.  The weather wasn't the nicest, but we went anyway.

The drive up there was pretty nice... not a lot of traffic, once you got past Issaquah.

The Forest Service road was well maintained, and not really all that wet... I guess the trees protected it quite a bit.

Everything sure was GREEN!

There were a few cars at the trail head, but we didn't see anyone.

The trail starts out as an easy slope, with a boardwalk in some of the muddier or more sensitive areas...

Once past the part of the trail where "everyone" goes, and on up the hill, it gets a bit rocky at times, but its still a very nice trail.
Talapus Lake is one of the "Alpine Lakes" in the Snoqualmie National Forest.  Fed by meltwater and glacial melt, they are quite pristine, and very clean.

It was raining pretty good for a while, but luckily, we had waterproof jackets... mine beaded the droplets up on the surface, which shined brightly in the flash...

Once at the Lake, we were presented with a nice view... I imagine that the view would be quite a bit more stunning on a bright and sunny day!
We grabbed some water, and a sandwich that we brought, talked for a while, and enjoyed the view, then headed back down the hill in the waning light... it was a nice hike, and we had a great time!

I like Thursdays!
