| Loading on the Ferry It was a quick drive to the ferry terminal, and the little guy was excited to get on the boat! We got there just as the last cars waiting were pulling on, so we got to drive right on the ferry without waiting at all.
Pulling Away The little guy and I watched the boat leaving the dock from the passenger deck, then we went up to the passenger dec.
Pointing out the highlights The little guy quickly found a empty table, and climbed up to the window to watch. He made a point to make sure we didn't miss anything he found interesting. =]
Watching the waves He really enjoyed the waves, which were more active than at other times, because the weather was a bit more blustery than the other times we were on the ferry
Mostly Empty The ferry was quite empty, which made it nice. We explored a bit, but he made sure he stayed close to a window, so he wouldn't miss anything interesting.
The KLahowya I should make a 'Ferry Page'... I've been on several, and for most of them, I have an 'I was here'picture.
Pulling into the dock After a half hour or so, we were back on the car deck, and ready to drive off the boat.
Point Robinson From the dock, it was a short ride to the other side of the island, and Point Robinson. When it was manned with a keeper crew, it was considered a remote site. They had housing for 3 keepers and their families
Light Station I don't know what it is about lighthouses, but I really enjoy them.
Mt Rainier While we were there, the clouds parted a bit and provided a nice view of Mt Rainier.
Pt Robinson Lighthouse The lighthouse is boarded up and prepped for the wintry weather.
Last Look Heading out, I took one last picture, and then made our way to the dock to take us to Tacoma.
Mt Rainier On the way across the Sound, Mt Rainier made for a nice backdrop in the waning light.
The Rhody We rode back on the Rhododendron, a fairly small ferry.
Refurbish Pics The Rhoddy was refurbished a few years ago, and they had pictures on display to show what was done.
Watching The little guy didn't want to come outside, but he really enjoyed watching the scenery slip by from the window.
Small deck The little ferry made the trip interesting... its a whole different feel when compared to the larger ferries in the fleet. It was a nice way to end that leg of the trip.
