2010.11.21 - The first snow of the season
< Back to Currently

Exciting times! I've always gotten charged up over the first snow of the season... and thankfully its something I've never grown out of... =]

Snow!
I knew it was supposed to snow, so I kept checking... and finally it paid off.

Not really staying
It didn't stay at first... the ground wasn't nearly cold enough.

Dusting on the truck
By the time we the little guy and I headed out for church (the Shadow Lady left earlier), there was a dusting of snow on the truck.

At Church
I was surprised at how many people were missing... guess they were worried about the reports of heavier snow on the way.

Choir
The choir sounded great, I thought.

Heading home
Heading home, more snow was falling, and it was slowly getting ahead of the melt-off

In town
I went into town for some groceries - mostly for the excuse to drive in the snow - and noticed that in town, the snow was also starting to stick.

Heading back
Down in town, the roads were pretty clear.

Heading up
As I headed up to where I live, the snow was increasingly more noticable.

In the Foothills
By the time I was close to home, there was a good amount of coverage... we live about 500 feet above the city of North Bend.

Jeep
By the time I was locking up for the night, there was a decent amount of snow on my Jeep.

1-2 inches
It was nice to see that the first snow of the season was more than just a flurry or two... hope that bodes well for the rest of the season! =]

Aftermath
The next morning... I shoveled away the snow - about 2 inches worth - and put down the first few scoops of salt...

Snowy Trees
There's not much more appealing than snowy trees!
