A friend of ours invited us to a range run by a local gun club (they're not taking new members, otherwise I'd have joined)... we jumped at the opportunity to go!

Liquid Sunshine
True to form, the weather was 'normal' for the PNW

Trying them out
We'd just gotten new handguns a couple of days before, and used some of the time on the range to get used to them.

Rifle Range
After a bit, we went to the rifle range to get in some training.

The M4's .223 casing is dwarfed by the .30 caliber (.30-06) casing that the M1 uses.

The Shadow Lady shot well with the M4, which was also new to the both of us.

Trying out the M1
The M1 has a decent kick, but he had a Russian 7.62 bolt action that really gave your shoulder a workout!

We put a box of diapers out there... it was more therapedic than we thought it would be! =]

Firing the M1
It was the first time I'd had it on the range. It shot VERY well!

Cleaning up
A very enjoyable ending to a great outing! We had a great time, and we'll be going back there again... they're going to open up membership shortly, and I'll be first in line!
