We drove around for a while to let the little guy sleep, heading up to Nanaimo... it was an interesting drive.

To the ferry terminal
We made our way back to Sidney, and found the ferry terminal. There was a lot of space for a fairly sizable line, but there weren't a lot of people heading our way, thankfully.

Through Canadian Customs
The trip through customs was pretty nondescript.

The line up
It was a bit lot, but it was mostly empty, so the little guy and I ran off some steam

The Ferry
Before too long, we spotted the ferry coming

Checking out my phone
I'd gotten a new phone just before heading out on the trip... it did a good job, I think.

Nice Shot
'Look at it now, daddy!' The little guy enjoyed watching it come in.

Pulling into the dock
The ferry came in to the dock without a hitch. Every so often, you hear in the news that they crash, so I like to watch... =]

Decent Zoom
This is the limit of the zoom on the phone... not too shabby, actually.

Heading onto the ferry
Shortly after the ferry unloaded, it was our turn to pull onto the ferry

Interesting view
No matter how many times I do it, this view always is a fun one for me...

Parking deck
We were on the lower side deck... great for the view!

The Chelan
I've been on quite a few of the ferries... I keep saying I'm going to make a 'Ferry' section... I guess I should get around to it before too long, eh?

Driving
He liked pretending to drive, watching the 'game over' graphic flash... I guess that will work until he can read. =]

Seating
There was a lot of seating... but the ferry was pretty empty, which was nice.

Playing with daddy's phone
After exploring the ferry (he loves those things), the little guy was wearing out, and decided that the games on my phone were more fun.

Watching the scenery
From our vantage point in a booth, we watched the scenery go by, and had a good time talking.

Nice views
The San Juans are pretty interesting. We'll likely be back here before too long, I'm sure.

Heading into the San Juans
On the way back from Sidney, we pulled into the San Juans to pick up more vehicles...

Friday Harbor
We'd just been here a few days before...

Back out to open water
Before too long, we were heading across the sound to Anacortes. The sun was starting to set, and the little guy was getting tired, so he and I went back to the Mariner

Setting sun
I took the opportunity to get some interesting pictures around the ferry.

Sunset over the Sound
The sunset was pretty impressive.

Captivating
The little guy and I watched the sunset for a while, then headed back to the Mariner

Mountains are awesome
The waning light hit the mountains, and created an interesting view.

Rugged country
Have I ever mentioned that I REALLY like where I live? I really hope that I never grow tired of views like this!

Last look
As we were driving off the ferry, the Shadow Lady managed to catch this shot of the last bit of sunlight... we were back in the States, and after a couple of hours, we were safely back home. It was a good trip!
