American Camp
After visiting the English Camp, we went by the American camp, but the little guy was sleeping, and we were a bit short of time anyway, so we didn't stop

Abit more Desolate
We did drive through the area where the American camp was. These mounds ont he slope were part of the emplacements the Americans set up for several canon hauled up the hill by hand from a US Navy vessel supporting their operations.

Canadian Warship
A Canadian Navy vesel was on patrol through the San Juans. We saw it again later, on the ferry. It might have been part of an increased patrol after a ship from Singapore brought refugees to Vancouver, BC not long ago

Shaped
These rocks showed evidence of being shaped for some reason... drainage?

Fortifications
More emplacements in the American Camp, which was much more spread out than the English Camp

Needs paint
The inter-island ferry seemed to be in a state of disrepair...

Ferry at Friday Harbor
The ferry dock at Friday Harbor

Lining up
There were a lot of folks lined up to go to Sidney. You have to register a few days in advance in order to get a slot on the ferry

Getting on the ferry
Driving on the ferry, which was smaller than the one that brought us from Anacortes.

Heading to BC
Before too long, we were on our way to Sidney, BC

Walking around
The little guy likes the ferry... I think part of it is that there's a lot of space to walk around!

The view off the ramp
The view from the ramp to our car dec had a nice view

Car Deck
Down on the car deck, so the little guy could get some rest.

Leaving the San Juans
Our last views of the San Juans

Open water... sort of
We headed across the Haro Strait to Vancouver Island

Islands in the Sound
The views from the ferry were great! Very clear, very still...

Canada
Before too long, Vancouver Island loomed closer

Arriving at Sidney
Once we docked, we got off the ferry, and rolled through customs, and on into Canada for the next leg of our trip.
