2010.08.15 - An afternoon with the Bosox

A friend of mine from the Army was at a conference in Seattle, and we took the time to meet up and catch up a bit on old times... and since we're both from New England and the Red Sox were in town, it seemed like the thing to do!

Heading in
The traffic heading in to Seattle was pretty light, which I thought was curious for a Red Sox game...

Floating Bridge
Even the bridge was wide open.

Close to the stadium
It seems that the changes they made to the interchange near the stadium worked... because there wasn't any traffic to speak of at all.

At Safeco
Safeco has an air about it all to its own... not like Fenway, but it still has a very good feel to it.

Nice Stadium!
It'd been a while since I got to go to a game... It was good to be back!

Stretching
I managed to get some pretty impressive seats... 6th row, just off third base... they were NICE

Greetings
The Red Sox pitching coach stopped by to say hi to a local...

Beltre is back
It was odd seeing Adrian again. Its sad -- I've been so out of it this season, I didn't even realize that he'd been traded to the Red Sox...

Good food
A third of the way through the game, mostly to get a break from the sun, I went to get a pizza....

Conference
The Red Sox played pretty well early in the game...

Big Papi at third
The big guy worked his way to third, and eventually scored.

Ahead!
The Redsox took a lead... but unfortunately didn't hold it for long

New scoreboard
The new scoreboard graphics looked really nice!

Crew
I was hoping the ground crew would dance, but they didn't. I guess it was too hot.

It was a loss
Of all the games for the last place Mariners to win, they had to win this one. =] Oh, well... I still had a good time, and it was good to visit with my friend again.

Nice View
On the way back home from the game, I was treated to this nice view of Mt Rainier over Lake Washington... Very Nice!
