The Shadow Lady had been asking for a 'victory garden', so for Mother's Day, I decided to put one in.

Framing up
After church, I went to the hardware store and picked up the lumber I needed, came home, and screwed it all together

The Frame
before too long, I had the frame ready...

Prepping the Spot
Ipicked a spot that got good sun for most of the day. We live by a couple of ridges, which block the sun in the morning, and in the later afternoon... but for some of the day, it gets the best light - when the sun shines, that is... =]

Peas
I put in 6 'rows' (the box is 5ft by 12ft), and picked a varity of things to plant.

By the time the sun had dipped below the ridge, I had it ready to go... not bad for an afternoon, eh?

Burn pile
On top of that, I also burned the rest of the burn pile... we're FINALLY done with it! I'm sure that by fall, when we can burn again, they'll be another pile... we get a lot of branches blown into the yard from wind storms...
