The Moment of Truth
After downloading, I fired it off. I took a deep breath here, and clicked 'update'. 99.9% of the time, it'll work just fine, but if something goes wrong... its hard to fix, and since I was doing it out of cycle, I'm sure I wasn't going to be able to call the helpdesk if I had issues.

Updating the ROM
The update begins with an update to the underlying Flash ROM.. the bootstrap for the OS.

The install begins
The whole update only took about 10 minutes. Just as it was beginning, the phone jumped to USB mode, coming out of Active Sync when the OS shut down... that caused the desktop utility to fail, which worried me a bit. I restarted it, and it picked up where it left off, thankfully.

First boot
After the update cycle was done, the phone reset itself and windows started for the first time. The familiar 6.1 green background has been replaced with an orange one, it seems.

TA-DA! The new HTC Sense UI looks GOOD.
And just like that, it was done. The New HTC Sense UI, which is an update and rename of the TouchFlo UI, is quite a bit nicer... it sure is a lot faster!

Windows Moble 6.5
I stopped the HTCSense, and I'm planning on running with the WinMo standard interface... I'll probably reinstall the SPB shell after a while, because I really like it, but for now, I'm really enjoying the new interface that 6.5 provides.
