We went to the Smith Family Christmas Eve party... one of those family traditions that I hope doesn't end anytime soon! We had a great time, and got to see folks we haven't seen in quite a long time.

Mt Si
Heading out, we got a good view of Mt Si on a rare sunny December day...

He wasn't too happy when we first got there, so the little guy and Iread a couple of books to calm things down.

Every so often, to take a break from the crowd, he would go and say hello to the swan... =)

Santa, direct from Macy's
Santa came to check things out and make sure the little guy got his gift personally.

Once Santa sat down, and the little guy realized what was going to happen, he was sure he didn't want a part of it...

Opening the truck
Santa understood, and gave him the gift anyway... a cool truck!

Giving back to Santa
Mom gave a gift to santa... a booklet of scanned pictures of all the other times he came to the party over the years.

The gift exchange is 'white elephant' - style, only the gifts are supposed to be things that someone would want... sometimes, though, the person getting the gift isn't the person the gift was intended for... =)

While that was going on, the little guy played with his truck

The little guy really liked the kitty, who felt safe behind the glass with him there.

Fun times
Overall, we had a great time, spending Christmas Eve with family... like its supposed to be.
