Cold
Driving down, we got a few indications of how cold it actually was. The Capital Lake was frozen over... the sloughs in Mud Bay had ice on them... and here, the water seeping out of the rocks along the side of the higway was frozen to the rock face.

New Car
We met friends for a quick bite, then went out to the parade, which was started this year by Monte's new patrol car.

Old Glory
The VFW brought the Flag, once again the first group in the parade to march. The National Guard brought one past, also... they'd recently returned from the Middle East.

National Guard
One of thier Hummers was painted up

Monte?
Either most of the Monte band didn't show up, or things have gone downhill for the band...

The School Bus
The school bus this year was lit up very nicely!

7 Santas
This was the first of 7 Santas that were in the parade.

The Pirate Ship
The pirate ship was toned down a bit from last year, I thought.

The Shopping Cart
Missing from the last parade, the Thristway shopping cart was back this year.

The Dump Truck
The dump truck was back, also... nice!

The Cement Truck
The cement truck came at the end of the parade, where it normally does... very nice!

The Yule Log
The tractor brought the Yule Log to the city square, where it was bucked, split, and added to the bon fire, where they have music, hot chololate, and caroling

Prade of houses
We left to check out the 'parade of houses'... the town is very impressive!

elegant
The shadow lady liked this one... reserved, but lit up.

Lots of colors
I liked the houses with more color, and flash... =)

Living Nativity
The Presbyterian Church had its Living Nativity display set up... very nice!

FOOD
After the parade, we went to the 'After FOL' party, also an anual family tradition I hope continues!

Catching up
None of us are in the same place at the same time enough... so its good to have the opportunity to catch up with everyone.

Family
There's just something that puts you in the Christmas Spirit when you spend time with family during the holidays, eh?
