For Memorial Day, we went down to visit with the rest of the family down in Grays Harbor County. I look forward to it every year... I don't get to see them often enough! Its a great opportunity to catch up with everyone, and to remember the price paid for our freedom.

A new flag waver
When we gave him a flag to wave, he said 'pretty!' and ran around with it! =]

Waving Flags
One of the things we do is go to the bridge and wave flags over US 12 for an hour or so... its a lot of fun!

Having Fun
The little guy enjoyed watching the traffic, and pointed out the Trucks, Busses (RV's, but close), and Jeeps that went by

Patriotic Cars
We had 411 cars honk at us... not bad for an hour! Last year's number was 125.

Back at Grandma's house, Mike fired up the grille

Visiting
It was good to be able to see everyone again... it seemed much longer than it actually had been, but then, the last time we were down, we didn't get to visit with everyone... they were all out of town.

Catching up
It was a great opportunity to catch up on what everyone has been up to

The field
One thing I learned early on... they're pretty serious about the game! The field was in good shape. =]

They play for keeps... no holding back at all. =]

Watching the game
Everyone who isn't playing watches the game, and enjoys the company... its what a family gathering is all about.

Water Balloon
The little guy got a water balloon, but didn't join in the fight... next year!

Surprise!
'COLD!' After popping the balloon by biting it, he started laughing... seems it didn't phase him too much!

Sweets!
After the food was ransacked... the snack table started to become more popular. As usual, there was a LOTof great opportunities to blow any sort of diet you could imagine!

More Balloons
There were a lot of extra balloons this year, and everyone wanted to get get as many as they could. =] It was a great day of visiting and fun with the family... and as always, it ended too soon, and we had to make the slog back up to home.

The Back way
We took the back way up, to avoid the traffic. It was a very nice drive, missed all the traffic, and we had a good time talking and enjoying the scenery... a good ending to a great day!
