2009.05.07 - And on the THIRD DAY He rose again
< Back to Currently

Third Day came to town, and we - the guys in my Tuesday Men's Study Group - picked up tickets and headed down to Overlake Christian Church to see them. It was 5 hours of worshipful music, and the opportunity to visit with friends!

Heading in
We went out to eat, and then headed to the event. Parking was difficult - the huge lot at Overlake was overflowing! It was a sold-out event, with even the upper deck being full!

Brandon Heath
Brandon Heath opened... he did a great job, I thought! I'm not overly familiar with his songs, but I've heard several being played on the radio recently... and he did them much better in person, I thought

Reserved
His style is somewhat reserved. He grew up in Nashville, and you can feel the influence of that genre in his music. He sings mostly about his life experiences, probably another influence of the city he calls home.

Third Day
At around 8:20, Third Day came out, and played until 11:30... it was awesome!

Great Music!
They did a 'best of', it seemed. Love Song, God of Winders, Show me your Glory, Thief, Rockstar, Cry Out to Jesus, Black Bird, Revelation, a couple of Hymns... and more... we had a GREAT time!

Worship Service
On more than one occasion, as is typical of Third Day, Mac did his part to help spread the Gospel to those who might not have accepted Christ. In between some of the songs, we heard testamonies, applications to the messages in the songs, and insight... it was a great way to spend the evening!

Creed
'And on the Third Day He rose again!' They saved the best for last, in my opinion. They came out for a final set of three songs at the end, ending with Creed, which is my favorite song they do... The affirmation of faith was a great way to end the night... 'Redmond Washington, Do you believe it???'
