2009.04.24 - What a great place to live!

On the way home, I took a detour to check out the Snoqualmie Falls. I only had the camera that came with my cell phone, but that's OK...

Snoqualmie Falls
More than 40 feet higher than Niagra Falls, Snoqualmie Falls is a sacred site to the Snoqualmie Indians, who are hoping to purchase the site eventually. The flow is FAR less than it was when I was here last, that's for sure!

Lots of water
The Snoqualmie Falls are higher than Niagra, but the amount of water that goes over the falls is obviously far less! It's still pretty impressive... I think anyway

Power plant damage
The flooding a few months ago really caused a lot of damage to the power plant at the falls... not all of it has been repaired yet.

Snoqualmie River
The river and valley made for a great scene from the overlook. No matter how many times I come here, the view is always different

Salish Lodge
The Lodge is actually owned by the Tulalip Tribe, who also claim the site as a sacred place.
