2009.03.08 - Dark Afternoon in North Bend
< Back to Currently

Another round of snow was on the way, so I went in to town to get some milk and other item. I noticed Mt Si was standing out in a great contrast with the dark skies, and snapped a few pics

Heading in to town
Heading in to town, I noticed Mt Si was getting some sun through a break in the clouds. All's I had was my phone, which didn't do it justice, but it was pretty impressive!

Mt Si
Mt Si is pretty visible from just about anywhere in town

Twedes
Twedes is positioned perfectly... It was the diner used in the TV series 'Twin Peaks'... they DO have a GREAT cherry pie... and I really like eating there... its 'hometownish', to me, anyway.

In Town
This is the view from the main intersection in town. North Bend has 4 or 5 intersections that have lights on them... all on one road.

100 years old
North Bend is celebrating its 100th year this year. What's funny is that the hometown I grew up in is almost 390 years old!

North Bend Way
The 'old' part of North Bend is actually pretty small... blink, and you'll miss it. =] Before the Interstate was built, this road was the highway up through the pass, and it was a lot busier!
