Driving down
A good friend of mine from church, and my men's study group, invited me to a Kutless concert at Overlake Christian Church. His wife had gotten him the tickets, but couldn't go... so it was my lucky day! We drove down to the church after work... I got off early, after having worked through the night the day before... so it worked out great!

Overlake Christian Church
Overlake is a 'mega church' that was built with the idea of hosting concerts in mind... its HUGE!

VIP
We had VIP tickets, which meant that we had first shot at the doors (it was open seating), and we got to meet the band.

Kutless
the 'meet and greet' was a time of question and answer period before the concert. It was actually pretty interesting. I didn't realize that they were a local band, coming out of Oregon.

Talking with the band
Kutless was named because the founding members saw it as we get to come before God without cuts because Jesus was cut for us. Interesting.

Waiting to get in
After the meet and greet, we herded to the doors to wait for them to open. There was a LOTof crowding!

Rushing to the front
Once open, the younger crowd rushed to the front. We positioned ourselves to get some good seats. We ended up moving around a lot, but we had a great view of the band in the end... and we weren't getting jostled around in a sort of mini 'pit' down in the front

Text messages
On the large screens before the event started, they showed messages that could be texted to a number... not sure how much it cost per message, but it seemed that they made a good sum of money!

Esterlyn's dark set
Esterlyn opened. They admitted that they weren't a rock band, but they did have a good sound to them. Their set was interesting in that it was basically house lamps.. which was pretty dark! They're out of Boise, Idaho -- another local group.

Stelar Kart
Stelar Kart was great! They had a great sound to them, and they really fired things up.

Desciple
Desciple was more of a 'yell fest'... I like rock, but not the yelling metal stuff... we left during that set, and went to the tables... I picked up a Stelar Kart CD.

Me and a guy from Esterlyn
I also posed with one of the band members from Esterlyn. I have no idea what his name was or anything, but that's ok... it was fun. =]

Me and Matt Case
I also managed to get my picture taken with Matt Case, a radio host on Spirit 105.3,

Kutless
After a brief break a the end of Desciple's number, Kutless kicked it up a notch, as it were...

Firing up the crowd
I'd never seen them live, so I didn't know what their show would be like...

A good show
I really like thier sound, and Ithought they had a good mix of thier songs... we had a great evening

Wrapping up
While they'll never be known as a 'praise and worship' band, they do have some familiar songs such as 'Strong Tower' that do kick the praise meter up more than a little... i
