2009.01.08 - A few pics from the day after

Our neighborhood is flooded still... pretty impressively, too.  Its very odd to see it like that, because we're a good ways up in the foothills.  This is only our second winter, but it sure didn't do this last year, and talking to the neighbors, its the worst its been jimsince 1990... and maybe worse than that.

To add insult to injury... it snowed when we got home.  It stopped a bit later, but it was a bit of a surprise -- the snow line was supposedly going to stay above 3000 feet.

The drain ditch is MUCH larger than it used to be, and the roadway has been undermined a bit... The retention pond is full, and the water is over the roadway, backfilling the ditch.  the water heads to the left, and into another neighbor's yard...

To keep the water from cutting deeper into the drain ditch, and undermining the road even more, a canal was made with sandbags to keep the water on the other side of the roadway...

The Retention pond is overflowing into the roadway...

LOTS of water...

These guys had a rough night, I'm sure.

Last night, when we were coming home... a bit of a surprise... the snow level was supposed to be at 3000 feet or more...

It quickly covered the wet ground...

The driveway was clear for one day...

It made it a bit easier to see where the water line was in my yard... it'd gone down a bit.
