The night before, it started
to snow, and the weather called for a rain/snow mix, so I
figured it'd be heavy... so I decided to shovel off the
upper deck to make sure nothing bad happened... we'd been
hearing reports of Roofs collapsing throughout the county,
and we didn't want anything to to happen to us.

The was a LOT of snow on that thing! Not sure if it
was close to causing troubles, but its better to be safe
than sorry, eh?

Before we left, when the sun was still below the horizon,
and it was dark, I went up to shovel around the Mariner to
make sure we could get out OK... the scene was pretty
incredible, so I opened up the shutter, and took a pretty
nice night shot... What a nice road to live on!

a half hour later, the sun was coming up, and I noticed
that there were even some breaks in the clouds...

The peaks of the Cascades make a nice backdrop for our
drive out of our neighborhood...
the snow makes the
scene even better!

As we came down out of the hills to the highway, the
roads got progressively better...
they got less snow
overnight than we did.

The Interstate was pretty clear. They'd done a good
job of keeping it cleaned up.

Some folks got a bit too confident, and weren't prepared
for the patches of ice that were scattered here and there...
but mostly, the roads were pretty good.
