Before the little guy woke up,
we made sure everything was ready for him...

It seemed like forever, but we
finally made enough noise for him to wake up... =]

After he noticed, he spent a
bit checking it all out, then went over to his toy. It
made a noise, and he was GONE! =]

He quickly came around,
though...

We spent the morning
alternating between playing with the new stuff, and opening
more to see what was inside...

Meanwhile, more than a foot of
snow fell outside! It was a VERY white christmas!

The Shadow Lady's family was
coming for Christmas Dinner, so I dug out...

It was a LOT of snow!

I had to shovel out a
place for their car to park, which meant getting rid of the
snowbank.

Of course... it started to
snow again while I was finishing up! It sure looked
pretty, though!

The snow on the deck got
pretty deep!

The back yard looked like a
REALLY hard puzzle!

I drove down to the highway to
get an idea of how the roads were. They weren't very
good. This truck was against the guard rail, facing
the wrong direction.

We've gotten over 3 feet of
snow so far... and quite a bit of it is still on the ground!
I don't remember this much snow on the ground last year...

Our fence out front is nearly
buried!

The day went on, and her
family was waiting to see if things would improve... Just as
I was finishing shoveling for the third time of the day...
it started to snow again.

It really looked like
Chistmas!

The Shadow Lady's family did
make it up to North Bend, though... and Christmas with the
family was on!

Thankfully, I had enough
warning of when they would be coming that I had the food
ready without too much delay! We had a pretty nice
spread, if I do say so myself...

After dinner, we let the
little guy tear into his gifts... including the big one from
Grandma and Granpa...

A dog! Its an
animatronic dog that responds to touch, motion, light
changes, and verbal commands... after only a brief
hesitation, they were old friends!

In all, it worked out that we
had a great Christmas, and a very good visit with family...
maybe next year, we'll make the timing that happened by
accident this year the actual plan.
