Traffic backed up on the way to the stadium, which
doesn't happen very often, sadly enough. Like Boston,
the Yankees draw a pretty good crowd.

We walked across the sky bridge and into the lounge
level, where our seats are.

Cars were lined up waiting to pull into the parking
garage, which was rapidly filling up... not a very common
sight this year.

Heading past the "Wall of Fame" on the way to our seats.

A pretty decent crowd, especially for about an hour
before the game. About 40,000 were in the stadium,
which hasn't sold out a single game this year.

The moon was setting as the game got undeway.

There's just something about being in a ballpark that
gives you a warm feeling all over... its a great chance to
enjoy the game, and really experience the spirit of the
sport, and spend time with family, and get outside and enjoy
the great weather... it was an awesome night for baseball!
Teaching the little guy to clap. He watched the
game some, but watched the people around him more, trying to
get them to wave and smile to him -- his favorite thing.

Its fun to be at a game where the stadium is largely
full. A lot of folks were rooting for the Yankees, but
that's ok... its always funner when there's more people..

In the bottom of the 6th, Rauuuuuul put one deep, and put
the M's ahead by 3 runs... we figured it would be a good
time to head out, because the little guy was falling asleep,
and traffic would likely be bad getting home.

By the time we got to the car, the Yankees scored 4 runs,
on their way to 7 or 8 in that inning... they won the game
pretty handily, actually. Oh, well... we'd left before
the worst of it happened, and besides, it we had a good time
anyway.
That's the good thing about baseball - even when
your team loses, its the company you were with that makes it
fun.
