Driving down to Seattle, we
noticed that, after some 20 days of good weather, the day
seemed to be brewing for a bout of rain... we needed it,
though, so it was a good thing.

The Seattle Skyline from the overlook in West Seattle is
quite stunning! It was here in West Seattle where
Seattle started. I can only imagine the view the
Dennys had when they stood on this hill and looked across
the bay to the trees that stood where Seattle does now.

My Cousin took a "I was there" picture. The funny
thing is that we were higher than the highest point in
Florida, and we weren't very high at all. =]

A story pole from the Duwamish tribe, who lived in the
region when the Dennys arrived, relays the story of the
arrival of the grand ships that forever changed their lives.

After a bit, we continued on down to the Sea Tac airport,
which wasn't very crowded at all.

There was a lot of activity at the gate, though.
His plane was late, and people who had cut the "layover
window" too tight were trying to make alternate plans.
When we scheduled the flights, we made sure he had a long
layover - Just for this type of problem.

A bit late, the plane finally showed up, and they boarded
and left. With everything going on, they almost forgot
to load him on the plane! But, everything worked out,
and the rest of his trip home went well... he had a good
visit, and we sure had a good time while he was here!
