The drive to the park was
pleasant... Highway 18 is hit or miss sometimes, but on this
day, it wasn't bad.

The park is actually a very nice one, but its not used
that much during the week. There's very large play
areas, and lots of places for groups to picnic and spread
out.

The anticipation built up as we neared the geyser...

Hear it roar! =]
Yeah, its more of a big "Bic Lighter" than a "geyser", but
its still a natural gas vent that provides the fuel for the
flame.

In the 70's, the flame reached as high as 10 feet, but
nowadays, its a pretty small flame.

The wind sometimes blows the flame out... =]

We then walked along one of the trails through the park,
following the salmon information signs.

A portion of the Green River flowed through the park,
separate from the main flow of the river.

The separated section flows much more slowly, and the
fingerling salmon take advantage of that...

These guys are bulking up for their trip down the river
into the salt water in the fall... to return in 5-7 years to
start he cycle again.

The Green River flows along the park, and is quite
picturesque. We watched it for a while, then headed
out.
