I'm not sure if its the marine layer, the cooler
temperatures, or the Mountains, but we don't get thunder and
lightening very much here in the PNW... but occasionally, a
storm will flare up, and we'll have a nice show!
I got out my camera -- even after living in Kansas and Iowa
for quite some time, I'd never really gotten a shot of a
lightening bolt.... so I pointed my camera skyward, and
watched the show, while periodically opening the shutter...

I had a lot of fun watching the storm cells roil their way
across the sky -- it'd been quite a while since I'd seen
anything like that.
I set the shutter at 30 seconds, and played the game of
guessing when the next strike would hit... I actually got
lucky a few times, but I missed FAR more! =]

Some of them were pretty close, and I managed to get one
that hit the ground, but most of them seemed to be the
'cloud to cloud' variety.
It started to rain pretty hard, so I went inside and checked
to see what I had... I didn't do too bad!
Now, I'm looking forward to the next storm!
