We went to our first game of the 2008 Season... it was
REALLY good to be back in the familiar hallowed halls of
Safeco Field! It also was the little guy's first game,
which made it even more fun than it would have been.
On top of that, the Mariners won the game... it was a GREAT
evening! The drive there was VERY easy! The traffic
didn't back up until right at the end of I-90, right in
front of the stadium...

We switched back to our old section... we liked the 'new and
improved' one we had last year, but we got a different
ticket pack series, and the seats we wanted weren't
available... so it was back to where we were... we like it
there, though, so it works out.The little guy seemed to
be having a good time checking out the crowd... there was a
lot of new things to look at!

I managed to get a GREAT panoramic picture... that's 5
pictures that are "stitched" together... its one of the
better one's I've gotten of Safeco.
It felt GREAT to be back AT the game! It was fun to
look at the changes they've made... new plants in the
outfield storage area, the "Budweiser" is gone from the "Hit
it Here Cafe"... several new advertisements on the wall.
They also had a banner for Dave Niehaus' entrance into
the Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony...

The game was a lot of fun, too!Sexton smacked a two-run
home run to pull us ahead for keeps...
|
   |
It was 80 degrees when the game started, and it cooled off a
bit once the sun started to slip lower on the horizon... it
was a clear, warm Spring night... perfect for baseball! It
was JJ Putz "Soul Patch" night... the little guy fit right
in! :)
