2008.03.22 - Testing out the New Stroller
< Back to Currently

The other day, I took a walk around the lake with the Little Guy in his stroller... as I did, I noticed that the stroller was woefully inadequate on rough terrain. (check out "Out For a Walk")

So, I went down to the "Me and Momz" store, a consignment store for used kid stuff, and picked up a stroller that would work better "off road"... once I got it home, we, of course, had to test it out...

I forgot my camera, AND my phone, but the Shadow Lady had her phone, which also has a camera, so I didn't have to go back and get one.  :-)

We took a walk along the trail that goes around the pond in the neighborhood's park, which ends up being about a mile or so.

Its still early spring, and its a bit browner than we'd like, but some of the cherry trees had blossoms on them, and you could see signs that spring was just around the corner...

It was fun to watch the little guy checking out the the lake, and the birds, trees, and all the other interesting stuff to look at... he enjoyed the MUCH smoother ride, that's for sure.

I'd been there just a couple weeks earlier... they'd done a lot of work in that time.

Our neighborhood association hired a company to clean up the blown over trees, and clear away thickets and the like... it really opened the place up.

Once you cut the log off the stump, the root ball typically falls back into place.  It'll rot, and provide a place for critters to live for quite some time to come... just like the stumps from timber harvesting do.

The trail around the lake is generally in pretty good shape... and with it opened up, its a pretty nice walk.

The ducks are starting to show back up... we saw a couple of Mallards and (I'm pretty sure) a couple of Tufted Ducks... the Mallards were sorting out who was the biggest duck on the lake, which was interesting to watch.

It was a fun walk, and a good test for the new stroller, which seemed to work out great!  We're planning a walk up to the Ledge in the next week or so... that'll be the bigger test.  :-)
