The Shadow Lady's sister organized a caroling ride on the
Duck for family and friends... what a great way to kick off
the Season! I don't know how much trouble it was to
get everything organized, but after going, I feel like I owe
her something... we had a GREAT time!
We drove down to Seattle during the worst time of the day to
drive in town -- when folks are heading home AND heading to
shopping. but, we made it without too much
difficulty... I was reminded why I like the country so
much!

The Macy's Star was out... a tradition in the Seattle
Shopping district.
In Rainier Square, the Northwest Girls Choir was singing
carols... and the March of the Nutcrackers was in full
swing... Christmas was in the air!
|
  |
This sign is pretty sad... "Rudolf the recycling
Reindeer"... a reminder to have a GREEN holiday.
That's VERY Seattle, that's for sure!

 |
The Duck, actually a WW2 amphibious assault vehicle
converted to be a tour bus of sorts, picked us up out front
of the mall.
|
As we were loading, we were given some hot chocolate, a bag
of cookies and candy, and some fudge. Fun times!
|
 |
 |
Once we were all aboard, Captain Carl gave us a Coast Guard
required safety briefing.
|
After a few minutes, we were driving through Seattle,
singing "Sleigh Ride", and having a great time!
|
 |
 |
The excitement went up as we eased into the waters of Lake
Union... the bus we were riding was now a boat... it
was tough getting pictures with the movement on the water,
so I can't share too many of them here... but I have the
memory of it all... :)
We sang, looked for lights on the houseboats and boats along
the water, and enjoyed the scenery of the city from the
lake... an interesting change of view.
As you can see in this video, our driver really got into it,
too!(Watch
Video, ~4.5mb)
We had a great time... caroling, friends, family, treats,
and the Duck... a winning combination in anyone's book!
