The Shadow Lady and her family surprised me with a belated
birthday party. My trip around the Sun ended on a busy
time for everyone, so everyone put it off until later...
Today, Later came! :)The premise was a Red Sox
World Series game, which we did watch.. but they didn't tell
me about the birthday part, until we walked in the door.

We watched the game, ate pizza, and visited... it
was a great way to spend the afternoon -- even though though
the Shadow Lady's sister was rooting for the Colorado
Rockies....
A Blog post the Shadow Lady sent around said that the
Rockies have a disportionate number of Believers on the
team, which earned them her loyalty.
|
We took a break in the game to do the "cake and singing"
thing... I'm glad they went with "Happy Birthday" rather
than the number of candles it would have taken -- the cake
(which was a Baskin Robins cake VERY high on the yummy
scale) would have melted from the resulting inferno!

In addition to great cards, I even got some gifts! A
book on stringing up Christmas lights from the sisters, and
a Guinness World Records Book for 2008...
Fun Stuff! The Shadow Lady isn't too happy with the
encouragement on the Christmas Light front, but since its
going to happen anyway... :-)
|
We took another break when BabyJ let us all know he enjoyed
the cake... :-)

What everyone didn't realize is that Jesus is a Red Sox fan
(well, I like to think so, anyway). The Bosox won the game
10-5, taking a 3-0 lead in the series.
In all, it was a GREAT time, and I appreciate all the
trouble that everyone went to make the surprise a good one
for me.
