While in town heading to get Sunday dinner on a drizzly fall
day, a train pulled into the station in North Bend. We
managed to see it by accident: we didn't know it was coming
in then, and as we were getting out of Gar, our Mariner, we
heard the bells and whistles associated with a train
crossing a roadway in town...

 |
 |
The station, built at the turn of the 20th century about 100
years ago, is now more of a museum than a working train
station... but in the summer, and on into the fall on the
weekends, a train makes a few stops, bringing folks to the
town of Snoqualmie and back, which is about a 30-minute
train ride away.
|
Its mostly for the fun of it. Folks from North Bend
head to Snoqualmie for shopping, and they come here to do
the same... but its the trip that makes it fun.
|
 |
 |
The train is loaded with families, and lots of kids...
Around Christmas Time, you have to order tickets weeks in
advance, its so popular!
|
Its one of those little things that makes North Bend such a
fun place to live...
