2007.07.31 - Angels in the Outfield
< Back to Currently

The first-place Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim came to town for a 3 game series, and our ticket pack had us going to the middle game of the three.

It was a great day for baseball, warm but not hot, breezy but not windy...

The Angels were warming up as we got there... they looked pretty good!

We also managed to get in a Shadow Picture... "Preggie shadows"... :)

The M's ran out on the field to the cheering crowd of about 27 thousand (Safeco seats 47 thousand on a full night)

Weaver was pitching.  It went from "Dreamweaver" to "Nightmare on Edgar Street" in two innings.

Kenji went out to calm him down, and so did the manager...

...but before it was over, 4 runs were in, and the fans were booing loudly, showing the same sort of disgust that Rauuuuuuuu seems to be showing.

On the boat race, I picked "Green" because it was Irish Heritage night, and the folks who pick those things aren't too creative.

I was right.  :-)

The bleeding continued, and by the 7th inning stretch, it was 7 to nothing.

We sang the song, which made it an official game, and then we headed out, and listened to the rest of the game on the radio.

As we were leaving, I noticed that we weren't alone.

Driving out of Seattle on I-90 (which dumps out right at the stadium), we were treated to a really nice scene of the city of Seattle...

The M's lost, but that's OK... it was baseball, with the roof open, with the Shadow Lady.  I had a great time!

Did you know that sitting on the other end of I-90 is Fenway Park?
