2007.06.25 - Red Sox Baseball in Seattle
< Back to Currently

Ortiz, Manny and the Red Sox cruised into town... so I hung up my Mariners garb, and and dusted off my Bosox stuff, and went to the Ball Park... Red Sox baseball at Safeco Field - my favorite series of the season!

We got there in time to watch batting practice... it was fun watching Ortiz and Manny wow the crowd...
Its a very nice thing to see... I really enjoy the games where the Sox are in town!

A Sea of Red.

OK... nothing like you'd see at Fenway... but there are a LOT of Red Sox fans in Seattle!

"Lets go Red Sox..."  the chants come out, until the locals boo them out.  Fun times! :-)

After batting practice, the ground crew prepped the field, and a rookie pitcher made the long walk with the pink bag, and the M's came out to a cheer.

MOST of the Red Sox fans at the game are Mariner Fans on any other night... so there's no boo's, thankfully.

It was a GREAT night for baseball!

The Red Sox managed to get Ichiro out after a deep infield swat... you could tell they were hurrying, but they did it.

The Sox got out to a quick lead, much to the joy of their fans, who would cheer quite loudly, then get boo'd by the M's more loyal fans...

The night just kept getting better and better!
The Sox, true to form, never gave up... Weaver was ON, and when he tired, and the bases were full, the pen came in and shut things down... If it weren't the Sox, I'd have been quite thrilled with the pitching!

Manny was being Manny... these pictures were taken DURING the pitch...  He's definitely not on the team because he can play in the outfield, that's for sure!

Any other night, and I'm in the colors of Seattle... but when its the Sox, my hometown team gets my support!

The M's held off the threat in the 9th, holding the Sox to 2 runs, for a final score of 4-9.

I could have gotten "good" out of the game going either way... I'd have liked it to watch the Red Sox win, but it was a good win at a good time for the M's, so I'm happy about that, too.

In all, it was a GREAT evening, and a fun game to be at, even if my "real" team didn't win it.
