The Mariners were jilted or something, because before too
long it was 10-1.Hardgrove, the manager, came out, jawed
for a while with the umpire, and got himself thrown out of
the game.
We left, too... the rout was on. The final
score ended up being 16-1: the worst wuppin the Mariners
ever had.
The M's came back to win the next two games, and Griffey
stroked two home runs with that familiar swing, and cocky
stance, watching the ball as he walked to first base, again,
to a FLOOD of cheers. He left town saying he'd like to come
back to retire as a Mariner. Apparently, the fans
would really like that as well. If he brings his
winning spirit, then I'm all for it!
