We had our first prenatal appointment today. The doc went over our histories,
did some prodding, took some blood, and then did an ultrasound scan, which was INCREDIBLE!
If anything else, we know FOR SURE we're going to be parents - we saw living, moving,
heartbeating proof!
BabyJ doesn't have a name yet... we only found out a few weeks ago, and haven't
settled on one yet. We do know that whatever name we end up with, it will
start with a "J"... we are "TeamJ", afterall!
Jeremiah if its a boy... we can't settle on a girl's name, which might be saying
something... hmmm...

Here's the first view... 3.07 CM... about 1 1/2 inches.
The machine then calculated the average time it took for a baby to get that big,
and figured it was 10 weeks, and it set the due date at November 7.
11/07. We've laughed about those numbers for more than a year and a half now:
We emailed each other emails at 11:07 that were virtually word for word copies of
the other's... I thought at first that I'd sent mine to myself by mistake.
Been known to do that.
After the doc took, the measurement, he moved the sensor around for a better view...
|
BabyJ's got arms! They were moving around... it was truly an amazing
thing to see!
The doc was also looking to see if there was a brother or sister in there... but
didn't think there was.

You can't tell in a still so much, but on this one, you could see the little heart
beating - real fast.
That's an amazing technology!
|
Another shot of the arms. The left hand is touching the head, and the right
one is on the face...
|
 |
 |
BabyJ's got legs!
It was cool... they were flailing around, and the whole body was moving... it was
pretty incredible.
|
Here's a closer image of the above picture.
These images really sent it home... you can't confirm it much more than that!
The countdown has started, and we're on the way to parenthood.
wow.
